Black Odyssey Media is proud to introduce the Luminary Grant, an initiative designed to recognize and support the creators and influencers who champion Black stories and literary culture.
As a returning sponsor of the Black Romance Book Fest (BRBF), we are deepening our commitment this year by expanding our support in a more impactful way. In collaboration with BRBF, this year’s Luminary Grant is dedicated to supporting creators attending the 2026 festival.
GRANT OVERVIEW:
Three recipients who attend the 2026 Black Romance Book Fest will receive a $500 grant each. The Luminary Grant provides financial support to help offset travel, lodging, and event-related expenses tied to the Black Romance Book Fest (BRBF) and other literary engagements.
The Luminary Grant selection process consists of two rounds. The first round requires a written application with a series of short-answer responses. Selected finalists will be notified and invited to participate in the second round, which includes a video submission with detailed instructions provided.

Applications Open: March 25, 2026
Finalists Selected: April 25, 2026
Recipients Announced: May 25, 2026 (ahead of BRBF)

WHO CAN APPLY?
The Black Odyssey Media Luminary Grant is open to book content creators and influencers with active platforms dedicated to promoting Black literature, storytelling, and culture.
For the intended purposes of this grant, a “content creator or influencer” is defined as someone who consistently produces and shares original content that engages an audience around books. This includes, but is not limited to:

Book reviews, hype videos, recommendations, or literary discussions

Author spotlights or interviews

Event coverage or reading-related content
Eligible platforms include websites, blogs, podcasts, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and other social media channels.
Applicants should demonstrate an established and active presence, with a track record of engaging an audience around literary content. ***This grant is not intended for casual readers without an active content platform.***
